Moka Space

We chose to start from something completely ordinary, a moka pot on a stove, morning coffee in a small kitchen, and let it slip somewhere strange. The pot lifts off, becomes a rocket, and eventually crashes into the moon: a small homage to Georges Méliès's Le Voyage dans la Lune, and the iconic shot of the capsule hitting the moon's eye.

The whole process was collaborative - storyboarding, building and drawing the objects layer by layer, cutting, shooting, and scoring the soundtrack.
