A Sketching documentation assignment: to record and take inspiration from our everyday surroundings. Mine, at the time, was a stretch of military reserve duty at Old Be'erot Yitzhak during the war - heat, explosions, a daily life that wasn't chosen.
I wanted to hold the quiet moments inside the chaos. The drawings themselves are still and restrained, almost meditative, but outside the frame, everything was loud and burning. To carry that dissonance into the work, I kept the line work stripped down to black and white, and added a single color, orange that stands in for the fire, the sun, the heat pressing in from beyond the page.
