Final project for the course Image-Making, developing a series of images from a chosen subject - in my class's case, plants, through visual research and study.
I focused on botanical ingredients commonly used in natural cosmetics, researching the combinations that recur in real products and the properties each plant is chosen for. From those pairings I built a series of symmetric, ornamental patterns, each one a specific combination of species, in a restrained palette meant to feel clean and calm but also fresh and awake.
Each pattern became the wrapping of a cosmetic product, packaged in a box designed around the properties of its ingredients.
